Neelimala view point

Neelimala view point is one of the major tourist attractions in the scenic Wayanad. Neelimala, adjacent to Vaduvanchal, is an exceptional venue for trekking and camping and offers lots of exciting trails. From the Neelimala pinnacle you can enjoy an enthralling view of the cascading Meenmutty falls and the gorgeous valley in its forefront. Meenmutti falls, with its cascading water flow is a splendid sight from Neelimala viewpoint.
While climbing the Neelimala view point, there are coffee plantations on both sides of the route. Apart from that there are small holdings of areca nut and ginger. The fine aroma of coffee berries and leaves fills the air on your route upwards to Neelimala.
Apart from the coffee plantations there are small bushes of purple flower plants and also singing birds all the way to entertain your climbing experience. After the first mount, which extends for half a kilometer, the climbing route becomes narrower and leads down till it climbs up again. Now you will observe wild grasses of different varieties. As the narrow path goes up you will suddenly be delighted to view the mountain slopes of Western Ghats to your left and boulders to your right. Yahooo...Now you are at the Neelimala view point. Here you can feel the cool breeze and soothing wind that chills you up. At the Neelimala point peak you can see bright colored butterflies flying beautifully. Remember to move carefully since there are pits and slippery rocks. As you descend down towards the centre of the rocky spur you will be able to view the flow of white water and the evergreen forest. This is the best venue for photographers to shoot out beautiful pictures to their heart content. The sight of Meenmutti waterfall is astonishing and splendid.  As the mist opens, the view of the waterfall is gorgeous. Neelimala view point is undoubtedly a pride for Wayanad Kalpetta.
